How to Check Target Gift Card Balance With a Target Account?

The quickest and easiest way to check a Target gift card balance is with a Target account.  Begin by heading over to the gift card balance website at https://www.target.com/guest/gift-card-balance

You will be redirected to a sign-in page. Here, you will sign into your Target account before checking your Target gift card balance online. If you do not have an account, you can sign up with a few simple steps.

Once you’ve signed in or created your account, you will be able to access the balance checker page. You must enter the 15-digit card number on the back of your Target gift card. Then, enter the 8-digit access code.

Note: The access code is underneath a gray strip. If you do not see your access code, you must gently scratch off the gray strip using a coin. Then, enter the code underneath.

Double-check that the numbers are correct before selecting “Check Balance.” If all numbers are entered correctly, your balance will be displayed. If there is an issue with the numbers, it will read, “Scopes don’t match.” You can try to enter the information again or choose another method.

Another way is to use MyBalanceNow.Com and check your Target gift card balance.

Check Target Gift Card Balance Without Account

Check Target Gift Card Balance Without Account

Don’t have a Target account and don’t want to fuss with creating an account? No problem – there are two ways to check your Target gift balance without signing in.

1. Method One – By Phone

The quickest way to check Target gift card balance without login is to call the 24/7 line. The number for this line is 1-800-544-2943. Then, select option “1.”

From there, you will need to enter your 15-digit card number on the back of your Target gift card. Then press pound (#).

You will then be asked to enter the 8-digit access number. Remember that this number is hiding underneath the gray strip located on the back of your gift card. If it is not visible, gently scratch off the gray strip using a coin. Then, enter the numbers and press pound (#).

If the information has been entered correctly, an automated voice will share your Target gift card balance.

2. Method Two – In Person

Your final option is to take your Target gift card to a physical Target shop location.

Simply hand your Target gift card to a Target employee at the cash register. They will be able to scan or swipe the card to check the Target gift card balance without signing in to anything.

How to Check Target Gift Card Balance with Event Number?

All Target gift cards will have 15-digit and 8-digit access code numbers.

Some cards may also be given an “event number.”

Unfortunately, Target gift card holders cannot redeem their gift card balance with the event number alone. In fact, the event number is not needed whatsoever to check a Target gift card balance online, on the phone, or in person.

That said, you will need to use another method to check the balance of your Target gift card.

How to Check Target Gift Card Balance Without Access Code?

For most situations, the easiest thing to do is to scratch off the gray strip on the back of the card to reveal the access numbers. Then, you can input the numbers online or over the phone to redeem your Target gift card balance.

If you cannot do that, for one reason or another, you’re not entirely out of luck.

The best way to check the Target gift card balance without an access code is to take the card to a physical store. Employees may be able to redeem the balance without needing an access code.

To ensure they can look it up without removing the gray strip, it’s recommended to have the receipt. That way, the employee can simply look up the balance based on the numbers displayed on the receipt, which are identical to the numbers on your Target gift card.

Note: This is also the best way to replace a lost or stolen Target gift card!
